Oulook 2003 Out of Office Assistant

Various user I support were getting “the command is not available” error message when they tried to turn off out of office assistant in Oulook 2003.

Finally found a solution from Microsoft KB 327353.

Remove/rename
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\11.0\Outlook\Resiliency

    Have same problem and tried listed solution, but it does not solve the problem as it constantly re-occccurs every time OOA is used.

    To resolve the problem, you can take the following steps:

    1. Open Outlook.
    2. Click on Tools.
    3. Click on About Microsoft Outlook.
    4. Click on the Disabled Items entry.
    You will see a Disabled Items window open:
    If the below is listed, enable it and restart Outlook:

    “Addin: outex.dll (outex.dll)”
